Hello again!I'm still here, in case some of you thought that I'd disappeared. A big prayer was answered with getting our website moved onto a new server. Since early October, the old site started crashing a lot, and I was not able to send or receive email since then. So if you've written and I haven't responded, try this new email address! This new site is running very smoothly and is allowing many new features which will be very beneficial. One big new feature is that our main site is now completely translated to Spanish. Here's the new addresses for everything:Website: http://www.HeartsForTheChildren.orgSpanish site: http://www.MiCorazonParaLosNinos.orgMy site: http://www.HeartsForTheChildren.org/brentMy Email: Brent@HeartsForTheChildren.orgMy website has also been updated with new pictures from recent activities here in Guatemala. To avoid repetition in this newsletter, I'm going to focus more on my personal ministry through these activities. Our Vacation Bible School was the best week since I've been here. It was great to meet and play with so many new kids everyday. I drove the kids who live in Barcenas, and none of them come to our church. So many came that two trips were needed, which means around 80 kids came only from there. During the day, I was involved with their recreation time which allowed me to have a lot of interaction with all of the kids. The Christmas party was very similar in that it was a huge activity where I was able to interact with a lot of kids. For this I was again not involved with the actual running of the party, so instead of passing out food and toys or running the program, I was able to walk around and talk to the kids and their parents. Many activities only include kids, so it was great to talk to their parents as well, especially the ones whom I'd never met before. Some are a little cautious about who this white person is who plays with their kids, and hopefully this removed their fears. One huge truth that has impacted me here in Guatemala is the great importance of love. I find it's real easy to get lost in preparing Bible lessons, crafts and activities for the kids, but the thing they need the most is to see God's love for them. His love can certainly be shown through these activities, but it unfortunately gets easily forgotten in the busyness of everything. The VBS and Christmas party were great because I was able to focus solely on giving God's love to the kids.In January the kids go back to school and this year I'm paying for one kid to go to kindergarten. It's my best buddy, Gerson, who lives next door. He has trouble sitting through short Bible lessons during church, so he really needs this optional year to learn how to sit and listen! Thanks for supporting me so abundantly here so that I am able to help kids financially too! I'll try to get a picture of him up on my website. Here's my prayer requests:1. Time with more kids one-on-one - most of the time I have a minimum of 10 around me, which makes it harder to work and minister to each of them individually.2. More Guatemalans to help me with the kids - it's even more meaningful to the kids when Guatemalans are loving them than just white people.3. Direction about what to do next year - Grad school, teaching, work, more time here? I can't believe I'm about 3/4 through my time here already, I really need God's direction about what to do next.I hope that you are also doing well, and please write back!Brent
